Wonderful Muzaffar Al-Nawab
“My God, save me from my homeland.”
The Iraqi poet Muzaffar al-Nawab is on a tour of visits during which he moves between our Arab cities and villages. This time, he arrives in Nazareth, where he meets Saeed, a young musician who gives musical performances with his friend Asaad in a cultural café, and the three of them become friends.
Saeed, the young musician, suggests to the poet that he accompany him to the café in the evening for change and renewal. Perhaps this will save him from repeating the same program every evening, as it has become a boring routine that threatens his work at the café and may cause him to be fired from his job. The poet responds to Saeed’s request, and the café owner agrees to that after he Muzaffar stipulated that he would not fire Saeed from his job.
Muzaffar Al-Nawab takes the stage of the café to recite to the audience some of his poems, but he seizes the opportunity to recount some of his stories and the personal positions he faced before our rulers, oppressors, and oppressors, in his distinctive, interesting style.
Don't miss the opportunity. Let's meet this unique Iraqi poet. He rarely visits our country.
